Applications must be postmarked by 12 Midnight on April 22, 2018.

When are the Letters of Recommendation and school transcripts due?

Letters of Recommendations and a copy of school transcripts are due April 22, 2018 for consideration. The final school transcript is due by July 1st. If selected as a scholar, your final transcript has not been submitted your scholarship may be forfeited.

Can anyone write me a Letter of Recommendation?

Letters of Recommendation must be provided by someone who knows your academic history and character.

*Parents are not permitted to write the recommendations for the applicant.

I missed the deadline. Can I still apply?

Unfortunately, we are unable to consider applications that are received after the deadline.

Will I be required to provide proof of parents' income?

The applicant may be asked to provide verification of parents' income for proof of financial need.

If I am awarded a Robert Lee Macklin Scholarship, how will the funds be distributed?

The funds are sent directly to the financial Aid office of the institution the applicant is attending the fall semester.

*Note:  The RLMSF will need the student's ID# to ensure the funds are distributed to the correct account.

If I am awarded other scholarships or financial aid, does it affect my eligibility for the Robert Lee Macklin Scholarship?

Other scholarships will not affect the applicant's eligibility for the Robert Lee Macklin Scholarship.

*Note:  While other scholarships does not impact eligibility, the RLMSF Board will ask if the student is receiving other scholarships.

When are the winners notified? Are all applicants notified?

The applicants who are awarded the scholarship will be notified via email and/or text within 5-7 days after the applicant's interview date.

Note: Due to the volume of applications, only the finalists who were interviewed will be notified of decision.

The Robert Lee Macklin Scholarship was designed to reward and assist deserving High School Seniors of Tarrant County who have plans to pursue higher education. Applicants must demonstrate an unmet financial need, strong academic record and work ethic. To apply for this award, students must provide proof of financial need when requested. Each year 3-5 scholarships are awarded up to $1,000 to eligible students
